GATEFORUM KOLKATA Making Profit by Cheating Its Students

Hello everyone,

I am a student of the Kolkata Gate Forum. I took admission in Gateforum on September 15, 2012 for gate 2014 in Electronics and Communication Stream.

I had chosen ICP-Plus package and paid Rs 20000. I took "Central" as my preferred batch location.

The  ICP-Plus package covers-

Delay In Commencing Classes-

Gateforum told me at the time of admission that our classes would start from last week of October. 

They will mail us the actual date of commencement of class.

But the classes started on January 26, 2013.

In between this, I called several time Gateforum informing them about the delay in commencement of  class.

They never took it seriously and told me that there were  problems in getting a place in that area, the number of students took admission is very less etc. etc. They just gave excuses. Their behavior was very bad.
They don't know how to talk professionally.
 At the time of my admission they typed  my email id wrongly . I came to know about this later. They made @yahoo.com to @gmail.com. Because of this I didn't get the study materials in right time.

First Class-

First class was in "Central"

It was a school of kids with very small benches, small board, little light. So in the next class they changed the venue from "Central" to "Beleghata" which is far away from Central.

Change of Venue-

Now Beleghata is near to another gateforum center in Kolkata which is "Ultadanga".
 I had chosen central because of the availability of night stay but delegate is far away from my place so it created problems.
But If I wanted  to change venue they will charge me Rs.1000.


Combine Classes-

We are doing combined classes with the Computer Science Students (Math, Numerical Ability, Digital Electronics). The teachers were not that high class. They are ordinary teachers. Not like an expert in the subject, lacks experience. The digital electronics came from Hyderabad and was the poorest faculty.


After these subjects we again start doing combined classes with the Electrical Students (Analog Circuit, Circuit Theory, Control Systems). The capacity of the class reached up to 150 plus.
 I used to go 45mins earlier from the class starting time  to get a front seat. The teachers were very good.

Unnecessary Class Off-
The classes were unnecessarily off in between weeks. After my 6th semester there was a semester break. The college was closed, gateforum classes were also closed. Reason was same as previous." Unavailability of Venue"

Now they gave us a classroom  schedule like this...

Gate 2014 starting in the month of February, 2014. EM theory, Part of Digital Electronics have not taught yet. Control systems, Electronics Devices, Math etc. subjects were taught in a hurry.

They took just two sectional tests (numerical ability and mathematics) in this entire period.

When I asked about the awkward schedule to gateforum they just told me that if you have any problem regarding this you can mail us. They can arrange this kind of schedules.


I wasted  Rs.20000 on this coaching center. Instead, if I bought standard books and start following NPTEL videos it will give me the right thing for the preparation of GATE 2014.

I recommend all of you who are thinking to join coaching classes please think before you join.
